Embark on a Life-Changing Adventure with CERT International!

Are you ready to make a real difference? Join CERT International on a medical and dental mission deep into the Amazon jungle, where remote villages along the Madre de Dios River have little to no access to healthcare. This is your chance to bring hope, healing, and the love of Christ to communities in need.

You don’t have to be a medical or dental professional to make a difference! We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and ages (children 12+ included). Whether you’re assisting in clinics, offering compassion, or sharing the love of Christ, your presence matters.

What You’ll Experience:

• Travel up the Madre de Dios River by boat for several hours to reach remote villages.
• Provide free medical and dental care in jungle communities.
• Stay in Puerto Maldonado, serving the city’s underserved populations.
• Camp in the Amazon with tents and sleeping mats provided (bring your own blanket and pillow).
• Experience the climate and ecosystem of the rainforest—strong insect repellent is a must!
• Enjoy free time exploring Puerto Maldonado and shopping for souvenirs.
• Opportunity for ecotourism on Saturday, July 25th (for those departing Sunday).

Team members will fly into Puerto Maldonado and travel by bus and boat to set up free medical and dental clinics, serving from morning to late afternoon. This mission is an adventure in faith, service, and resilience—a chance to be the hands and feet of Jesus where few have gone before.

Important Information:

• VACCINES REQUIRED - NONE. The CDC has recommended a Yellow Fever vaccination. (check your CDC link often). Suggest having a current tetanus, Hep. A and Hep B. 
• MEDICATIONS REQUIRED - NONE. Suggest Malaria medication. There is a higher risk of Malaria in the jungle regions of Peru. Medication is recommended. Consult your doctor.
  • Dengue and Chikungunya may be present.
• PERU VISA REQUIRED - NONE..
• LIABILITY RELEASE - YES. Sign and returned to CERT. The "Form" is included with your information pack after.
• BACKGROUND CHECK - YES. All applications received on or after January 1, 2026 must submit a "Background Check". CERT will send you a LINK to follow. $0.00 US Citizens, There is a fee for Canadian or other countries.

How to join the Team

The first time you apply with CERT, you will be asked to "Create an Account". This is your access to all of our Opportunities, Fundraising, payments, and instructions. If you are fundraising, we provide a webpage and a place for donors to give towards your goal.

APPLY
This is the first step. After you press APPLY, you need to answer a few questions about yourself. You must fill out the Registration Application questions for Approval. Once completed, select APPLY at the bottom of the page. Your status is now PENDING.

PENDING
Great, the first step is done. One of our leaders will look at your Registration Application and contact you within a couple of work days on how to proceed.
You may be asked for more details. You will receive an email with additional instructions. If the Team has openings, you will be APPROVED.
If the Team is full, you may remain PENDING and be put on a waiting list for a possible opening. Or, you can withdraw and select another opportunity.

  You will need your Passport for some of the entries.
• Status of APPROVED means you have been placed on the Team. See APPROVED below.

APPROVED
You are almost there. Approval is the next step in the application process. We have a place for you on the Team. To secure your spot, you must submit a completed application (if you haven't already) and a $250 deposit. Team sizes may be limited. We suggest you do this as soon as possible. You can lose your spot if you wait. After we receive the deposit, a Team Package will be mailed containing a Trip Manual, a T-shirt, and a devotional journal.

• If you have not completed the Online Team Application, locate it in RESOURCES at the bottom of the page.
  One Application is good for all your trips. It's kept on file for any future opportunities you sign up for.
• Pay your $250 deposit through the Make a Payment link. Coupons or discounts can not be used for deposits.
  • $150 is refundable up to 30 days before the trip start date.
• If you cancel with less than 30 days to the start date, the deposit is non-refundable. The Payment Policy can be found under the FORMS tab.

Trip Cost: $1,950 + Airfare // *This trip can be combined with the following week's trip to the Peruvian Andes for the reduced price of $3,400*
Included:

• In-country accommodations, transportation, and meals.
• Traveler’s medical insurance.
• Cost-share of medical supplies and clinic expenses.

Not Included:

• Personal shopping and sightseeing.
• Airfare (varies by departure location and booking date).

No prior training is required for this trip. A team manual will be provided before departure. Training includes:

• Pre-field preparation through the CERT Team Manual, a mission-specific guide, a pre-trip devotional, and ongoing communication with our office and team leader.
• On-field orientation and training at the ministry site.
