Please join us on for this rewarding and delightful outreach in Santa Anna, El Salvador!  Santa Ana  is about 30 miles northwest of the capital, San Salvador, and is the second largest city in El Salvador. We will have clinics in two locations, with the locations to be determined.
We are blessed to serve with Pastor Mauricio Barrientos, who is one of the original eight founding members of Iglesia Oasis, and the members of his church.  Pastor Mauricio has a heart for the Lord, for the families of El Salvador, and for reaching out to the community in spreading the gospel. Iglesia Oasis has run medical campaigns yearly since they began partnering with GHO in the late nineties.

We need physicians, physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners, optometrists, dentists, dental hygienists and assistants, nurses, pharmacists, dermatologists, physical therapists, and other servants. We also need logistics personnel (Servants), who are non-medical people serving in a variety of roles such as children’s ministry, pharmacy helper, clinic runner, and glasses distribution.  College students, medical students, medical residents, and pastors are welcome to attend. Finally, we are seeking a videographer or photographer for the trip.

Families of medical personnel are welcome, as are students 15 years of age or older (The exception would be the children of a provider). Students between the ages of 15 to 17 will need a responsible adult to accompany them on the trip.  This trip is family friendly, and all family members need to be independent and to be able to serve.   Young adults, singles, and couples will also find this missions trip just as rewarding.  Our trips blend those who have never known each other before the trip that leave as firm friends.

Speaking Spanish is not a requirement of this trip, but any Spanish skills will be useful.  We will have interpreters from one of the local Christian schools affiliated with Iglesia Oasis. You will become very good friends with this lively and engaging group of young people.
Our prayer is to have a team of 25-35 people. While we gladly treat physical needs, medications eventually run out and the physical body becomes ill yet again. The ultimate goal of the outreach is evangelistic, so we seek to share the Good News of the Gospel with all patients. The local churches will begin the discipleship process with those who receive it.

This ministry follows the command of Jesus in Luke 9:2, "and He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”  This ministry will be rewarding for you and great for the people of San Salvador.  As the Apostle Peter says, "Use whatever gift you have to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10).

If the Lord is asking you to serve on this trip, or if you just have questions, then email the team leader Hannah Chow-Johnson, MD at [email protected] for further information. Hannah has been serving in El Salvador; this will be her sixth year with GHO in El Salvador.
