NOTE: GHO has a COVID plan to do our best to keep trip participants and our patients safe and healthy. We are watching country requirements closely. It is possible this mission will cancel in which case your application and funds will be moved to a future mission of your choice.

*Currently CDC has lifted guidelines and no longer recommend a quarantine upon return to the U.S. if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19. We do however recommend you check with your employer or hospital for their requirements before committing to the mission.

All team members must be Covid-19 vaccinated to attend this mission trip. This includes ages 15 and up for this trip.  All Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted as soon as safely possible.

*Special Travel Note: Due to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations, no deviations from the trip dates will be allowed unless arranged by the individual in communication with the team leader and the GHO Travel Coordinator.

Please join us on a wonderful, family-friendly missions trip to Ahuachapán,  El Salvador from June 4-12, 2022. We will serve with the Iglesia Oasis de Gracia as our in-country church partners.

The Lord will provide the team that He wishes to serve in His name; I am always humbled at His provision. We are looking for all types of providers (physicians, NPs, PAs, dentists, optometrists, physical and occupational therapists, etc.), nurses, CMAs, and professional students as well as non-medical team members. Children should be 15 and above and will need an accompanying adult; the exceptions are children of providers. All should be able to serve independently.

Speaking Spanish is not a requirement of this trip, but any Spanish skills are useful.

The outreach is evangelistic, so we desire to share the Good News of the Gospel with all patients. This ministry follows Jesus’ command in Luke 9:2:”…and He sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.”  This ministry will be rewarding and a reminder to the people of El Salvador that they are loved and not forgotten.  As the Apostle Peter says, "Use whatever gift you have to serve others” (1 Peter 4:10).

If the Lord is asking you to serve on this trip, or if you have questions, then email the team leader, Hannah Chow-Johnson, MD at  [email protected]
