Are you ready to make a real difference? Join CERT International on a life-changing medical and dental mission to Nosy Be (Big Island) is about 120 square miles and is located 5 miles off the NW shore of Madagascar, where we will be serving the Sakalva people.

Open to adult volunteers (18+). No medical experience is required, but preference is given to medically trained individuals! Whether you're providing medical aid, offering encouragement, or simply being present, your willingness to serve can make a life-changing difference.

NOTE: Flights are only guaranteed on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Nosy Be Airport (NOS). Team members will stay in the city and set up free medical and dental clinics in the surrounding areas, serving from morning to late afternoon. This isn’t just a trip—it’s an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

Important Information:
  • VACCINES REQUIRED - YES. Yellow Fever Vaccination *(must provide proof of vaccine - Yellow Card) *. Suggest having a current tetanus, Hep. A and Hep B. 
  • MEDICATIONS REQUIRED - NONE. Anti-Malaria medication is strongly suggested for this location.
  • VISA REQUIRED - YES. U.S. passport holders must purchase a tourist visa on arrival at the airport. USD 10 for a 15-day tourist visa.
  • LIABILITY RELEASE - YES. Sign and returned to CERT. The "Form" is included with your information pack after.
  • BACKGROUND CHECK - YES. All applications received on or after January 1, 2026 must submit a "Background Check". CERT will send you a LINK to follow. $0.00 US Citizens, There is a fee for Canadian or other countries.

How to join the Team

The first time you apply with CERT, you will be asked to "Create an Account". This is your access to all of our Opportunities, Fundraising, payments, and instructions. If you are fundraising, we provide a webpage and a place for donors to give towards your goal.

APPLY
This is the first step. After you press APPLY, you need to answer a few questions about yourself. You must fill out the Registration Application questions for Approval. Once completed, select APPLY at the bottom of the page. Your status is now PENDING.

PENDING
Great, the first step is done. One of our leaders will look at your Registration Application and contact you within a couple of work days on how to proceed.
You may be asked for more details. You will receive an email with additional instructions. If the Team has openings, you will be APPROVED.
If the Team is full, you may remain PENDING and be put on a waiting list for a possible opening. Or, you can withdraw and select another opportunity. APPROVED
You are almost there. Approval is the next step in the application process. We have a place for you on the Team. To secure your spot, you must submit a completed application (if you haven't already) and a $250 deposit. Team sizes may be limited. We suggest you do this as soon as possible. You can lose your spot if you wait. After we receive the deposit, a Team Package will be mailed containing a Trip Manual, a T-shirt, and a devotional journal.

    One Application is good for all your trips. It's kept on file for any future opportunities you sign up for.
  • Pay your $250 deposit (non-refundable) through the Make a Payment link. Coupons or discounts can not be used for deposits.
Trip Cost: $2000 + Airfare

  • In-country accommodations, transportation, and meals
  • Traveler’s medical insurance
  • Cost-share of medical supplies and clinic expenses
Not Included:
  • Personal shopping and sightseeing
  • Airfare (varies by departure location and booking date)
No prior training is required for this trip. A team manual will be provided before departure. Training includes:
  • Pre-field preparation through the CERT Team Manual, a mission-specific guide, a pre-trip devotional, and ongoing communication with our office and team leader.
  • On-field orientation and training at the ministry site.

Prerequisites

  1. PASSPORTS: Be aware that many countries will not allow you to cross their borders or board your airplane to fly there unless your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your initial date of entry. Still more, including the 26 European nations that participate in the Schengen accord, require your passport to be valid for at least three months past your date of entry, which means that you must add that three-month requirement to the time you plan to travel abroad.
  2. U.S. passport holders must purchase a tourist Visa on arrival.
  3. Yellow Fever Vaccination
  4. Malaria Preventive Medication is required.
