Global Health Outreach’s medical team plays a key role in advancing the long-term ministry in Bolivia by supporting a church-centered, holistic approach to extreme poverty in partnership with Bright Hope Bolivia. The ministry seeks not just short-term relief, but lasting transformation by empowering under-resourced local churches to lead sustainable change in their communities through holistic care, economic opportunity, and spiritual growth. Through microenterprise, strengthening families, pastoral training, and discipleship, Bright Hope addresses the root causes of poverty in a comprehensive way, always recognizing that God is the ultimate hero of the story.

Within this long-term model, the medical team serves as a strategic catalyst by strengthening physical health, which is essential for both economic stability and spiritual growth. When individuals are healthy, they can work consistently, manage and repay microloans, care for their families, and participate fully in their community, local church, and relationship with God. At the same time, the team serves as the tangible hands and feet of Jesus, personally extending God’s love, dignity, and compassion to every person they encounter. Each interaction reflects Christ’s care for the whole person and reinforces the truth that every life has value and purpose.

The team is recruiting gynecologists, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, primary care physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, pharmacists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, optometrists, Spanish-speaking believers willing to help interpret, and logistical non-medical servants. As in all ‘medical teams’ there is a great need for nonmedical servants, we invite you to consider joining us in this capacity in Bolivia.

The medical team’s outreach is done through and under the leadership of local churches, which strengthens their visibility, credibility, and servant-leadership within the community. The team helps build trust between the church and community members and creates pathways for ongoing spiritual engagement, including women’s and children’s ministries. When our medical team leaves, the church remains, so community members connect care, compassion, and hope with their local church—not simply with visiting teams—fostering sustainable, church-led transformation rooted in holistic community development.

This specific mission will take place in rural Bolivia, serving the local churches and assisting them with their outreach in the area,  by providing medical and dental care for people who have little to no access to these services. Not only will the team address physical needs, but they will also share the good news of King Jesus, who has promised never to leave or forsake His people.

In addition to clinical care, the team plans to bring and distribute water filters, offer public health training, and provide opportunities for pastors training and VBS. Bolivia is a beautiful country with diverse people groups and culture, deeply steeped in traditional beliefs and in great need of the hope of Jesus. Prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to serve alongside the churches in Bolivia to demonstrate the love of the Great Healer.
